Founded in 1979, the Saint Francis Foundation (SFF) is guided by the principle that everyone should have access to high-quality, equitable and affordable health care, and that private philanthropy is essential to achieving that goal. Through its partnership with Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, over more than four decades, SFF has provided support enabling better health outcomes for hundreds of thousands of patients and their families in San Francisco and beyond.
Today, SFF continues to transform lives through responsible allocation of donor funds, with a focus on medical innovation, behavioral and mental health, aging, and crisis management and response. MacKenzie recently partnered with the foundation to highlight the important role SFF plays in advancing community health by developing and designing the organization’s inaugural Impact Report.
As part of our process, and in close collaboration with SFF staff, our team interviewed hospital leaders, foundation board members, donors and community partners to develop report content profiling SFF’s organizational commitments and major areas of impact, including:
- Investing in innovation (spotlight on the Bothin Burn Center)
- Promoting inclusion (spotlight on the Gender Institute)
- Supporting community health
- Leading through stewardship
Additionally, we conducted an onsite photo shoot and designed the report for print and digital distribution.
